Ceramic Bobbins

What do you guys use for ceramic bobbins? I have a bunch of the griffin ceramic bobbins but have never ventured outside of that. I'm sure there are tons of options out there on the market today and curious to what everyone is using.

I just picked up a Rite bobbin this spring. It isn't quite as convenient when changing thread, but it is great to use once it is loaded. You can easily and quickly adjust the tension to suit your tying style and thread strength. It has a full ceramic tube and is well worth the extra money.

If any of you have bobbins that are older and tend to break your thread, slide a short piece of soft tubing over the end so the tube is about 1/8th of an inch past the end of the bobbin.

I am still getting used to one as well @professori . I do really like the adjustability of it.

I really like the Griffin Peewee ceramic. but I have found it very hard to get them recently.
I have been using the Stonfo ones of late and find them really good too.

I have 3 of the Rite bobbins, the metal Rite cuts the thread so only use that on stuff like Globrite etc, but my favourite one has to be the Tiemco, Good enough for Davie Mcphail good enough for me . :D

I have been playing with my Nor-Bobbin as well. It definitely takes some getting used to. Perhaps I need a Nor-Vise as well now.

My favorite bobbin carrier was the Umpqua ergonomic bobbin with ceramic, but it is discontinued. Now, it is the Rite bobbin with ceramic. Wasatch has a small bobbin carrier with ceramic for small bobbins like Pearsall. All of the bobbin carriers I use are ceramic. I have numerous non-ceramic bobbin carriers stowed, which I'll give away.

That is the one. I have several I use. I would buy more, if they were available. One would think other fly tying manufacturers would pick up this design.
